What is the difference between an AMR meter and a non-AMR meter?
On both gas and electric meters, the exterior appearance is very similar to that of a typical meter. However, the new electric meters are digital, with the meter reading displayed in a digital LED format that updates every few seconds. Additionally, the new electric AMR meters have an electronic circuit board module that collects readings and transmits the data over secure air waves to our mobile computer.

Gas AMR meters operate very similarly, with an AMR module installed under the index to send readings to our billing department.
