 SCE&G is dedicated to conducting business in an environmentally sensitive and responsible manner. We are committed to meeting all local, state and federal environmental requirements, and we take environmental stewardship a step further with innovative approaches.
Investment in clean air technologies has been a priority at SCE&G, and we have spent millions of dollars over the years to reduce our environmental impact. Since 1994, SCE&G has spent more than $315 million on all of our coal-fired plants to reduce emissions. By 2010, we will have spent an additional $450 million.
As the global climate change debate plays out on a national stage, air emissions will be even more in the spotlight. SCE&G is preparing for what the future brings, and already has plans in place for environmental initiatives at several of our plants.
