September 9, 2005 - SCE&G storm teams are returning to South Carolina Friday after a long, successful week of restoration work in the towns of Purvis, Lumberton and Picayune, Mississippi. That will give crews the weekend to recuperate before the possible impact of Hurricane Ophelia. SCE&G's corporate storm team is actively monitoring the status of this hurricane as it moves slowly off shore. The current projected path, while evolving, calls for tropical force winds impacting the coast of South Carolina as early as midnight Monday, with potential landfall by Noon Tuesday.

Customers are encouraged to monitor the storm's movements and begin preparations for the potential impact of Hurricane Ophelia.
