Bring the comfort and convenience of natural gas to your home with the rate plan that is right for you. | SCE&G wants to reward you for enjoying the comfort and convenience of natural gas throughout the year by offering the Natural Gas Value Rate.
The Value Rate rewards customers who use an average of 10 therms of gas per month during the summer months with a rate reduction that is approximately six cents per therm lower than our standard rate. The average customer using 475 therms a year would save about $28.50 per year.
To qualify for the Natural Gas Value Rate, customers must use an average of 10 therms of gas per month during June, July, and August - the amount of gas a typical family might use for water heating. To continue receiving this reduced rate, customers must re-qualify each year, simply by using 10 therms of natural gas during the summer months. Customers may be placed on the Standard Rate if usage requirements are not met.
Newly constructed homes with natural gas water heating are placed on the Value Rate and will be reviewed annually.
