SCE&G's Saluda Customer Service Office to Close

Cayce, S.C. (May 2, 2014) – South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. will permanently close its Saluda customer service office at 106 North Jennings Street effective June 27. Customers in Saluda will continue to have payment options including online, by mail and in person at the Town of Ridge Spring and at SCE&G’s nearby business offices in Johnston at 295 Lee St. and in Batesburg at 535 W. Railroad Ave.

“After evaluating a variety of factors we determined that it is the right decision to close the Saluda office at this time,” said Vice President of Customer Service, Sam Dozier. “With nearby payment locations and the relocation of our employees to those facilities, this should have a minimal impact on services, and we are committed to making this a smooth transition for all.”

SCE&G said a combination of factors, including employee attrition, low customer traffic and operational efficiencies, led to the decision to serve customers out of the nearby Johnston and Batesburg offices.

“How customers prefer to pay and communicate with SCE&G is changing, and more of our customer interactions are moving online,” said Dozier. “Even so, we value face-to-face interactions with our customers and hope they will visit our nearby locations in Johnston and Batesburg where they can be assisted with their payment needs and other transactions.”

SCE&G offers online payment options ( and 24-hour call-in customer service (1-800-251-7234) as additional options for conducting business with the company.
