Charleston S.C. (March 2, 2018) – SCE&G contractors will use a helicopter to perform electric line work in Dorchester County beginning Monday, March 5 through Friday, March 9.
The aircraft will be utilized to string lines along utility poles in existing rights-of-way in the Summerville area. The work will cover approximately four miles starting near W. Steele Drive in Summerville, crossing Hodge Road, Jedburg Road and Dawson Branch Road, and stopping at Highway 78.
“During this period, customers and residents may see helicopters at low altitudes near our poles and lines,” said Larry Duffy, manager of power delivery operations in Charleston. “The work being done is one more step towards providing even greater electric capacity and reliability to the residents and businesses we serve.” Work will be performed 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
