Cayce, S.C. (June 22, 2018) – City of Barnwell residents gathered yesterday at Barnwell Primary School to receive information about an energy-efficiency program that SCE&G is offering at no charge to almost 900 eligible customers in the area.
SCE&G’s Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Program will run through September 2018 and provide eligible Barnwell customers with energy assessments, education and direct installation of energy-saving improvements.
Customers who attended the event received a light meal and learned about program offerings, including:
- LED light bulbs
- Kitchen faucet aerators
- Electric water heater wraps and insulation for water pipes
- Advanced power strips
- Adjustment of electric water heater temperature
- HVAC filter replacement and one-year supply
“We are dedicated to helping our customers better manage their energy usage, and therefore their energy bills,” said Gerald Freeman, program manager of SCE&G’s Neighborhood Energy Efficiency Program. “One of our goals is to empower our customers to help us create a more sustainable and energy-efficient community. Every neighborhood meeting is an opportunity for us to meet more customers and provide them with the information and tools they need to make informed decisions about how they use energy.”
