CAYCE, S.C. — Residential electric service customers can win one of three Smart Thermostat Prize Packs, which include a Nest Learning Thermostat, when they recycle their old, secondary refrigerator or freezer through SCE&G’s Appliance Recycling Program during the months of March and April.
“We’re excited to offer the Nest Learning Thermostat in our prize packs,” said Program Manager Gerald Freeman. “The thermostats are ENERGY STAR certified and show your daily and monthly energy use. Most importantly, research has shown that they’ve been able to save users an average of 10-12 percent on heating bills and 15 percent on cooling bills.”
Smart Thermostat Prize Packs include:
- A Nest Learning Thermostat
- ENERGY STAR Smart Lighting Kit
- TrickleStar Advanced Power Strip
- Five LED bulbs
Customers who call 877-510-7234 or visit sceg.com/nest to schedule their free pickup to take place between March 1 and April 30 will automatically be entered to win a prize pack. Additionally, all customers who recycle an appliance will receive $50 cash back per unit for up to two eligible appliances and could save over $100 annually on their electric bills. The prize promotion ends April 30, but the appliance rebate is available year-round.
