Lake Murray Parks Opening for 2019 Recreation Season

CAYCE, S.C. — The two public parks at Lake Murray will open for the 2019 recreation season Wednesday, April 10. The boat-launch area on the Irmo side of the dam and the beach area on the Lexington side will remain open through Friday, Sept. 6.

“We’re proud to provide safe public spaces where people can enjoy Lake Murray,” said Billy Chastain, who manages the parks. “We encourage everyone to keep safety top of mind as they prepare to visit the lake. Now is the time to brush up on boating safety laws, make sure you have enough life jackets and make any other preparations that will help keep you and others safe.”

Parking fees at both park sites are charged during normal operating hours to partially offset the cost of maintenance, security and improvements at the parks. Fees at both parks are $2 for motorcycles, $3 for cars or trucks and $5 for passenger vans. Season passes can be purchased for $45 per vehicle.
